TULSA RED CASTLE GUN CLUB
M1 Garand Purchase Qualification Matches

Through the Civilian Marksmanship Program (formerly the DCM or "Director of Civilian Marksmanship"), qualified individuals may purchase M1 Garand rifles. For many, one of the requirements is participation in an appropriate centerfire match. In addition to NRA sanctioned High Power rifle matches, Tulsa Red Castle Gun Club is pleased to offer several simpler reduced course matches during the year.

These matches are open to the public and will take place on the following dates:
MAY 3 OCTOBER 4
The match may be shot with any centerfire rifle using iron sights. The match requires 50 rounds, plus any extra rounds you may wish to use for sighting in. Four courses of fire are used for scoring:
. 10 shots standing, slow fire
. 10 shots sitting, timed fire
. 10 shots prone, timed fire
. 20 shots prone, slow fire

All targets are shot at a distance of 100 yards. The match will be shot immediately after the monthly semi-auto match. Participants should be at the range by 12:00 PM. The match is usually concluded before 5:00 PM. Hearing protection is required and eye protection is recommended (mandatory for minors). Dress appropriately as the range is open to the elements, and a ground mat is highly recommended. Safe firearm use and match procedures will be expected and enforced. The match fee is $20.00 for non-club members, $15.00 for club members.

The M1's offered by the CMP range from barreled actions for $295.00 to a collector's grade at $1400.00. Most purchase a complete rifle in service grade at $550.00. For each rifle, a $22.95 shipping charge applies. The rifles are sent direct and do not have to transfer through an FFL holder.

If you wish to participate in either of the above listed matches, it is recommended that you e-mail the Match Director at least 2 days in advance of match date you want to attend.
