The next .22 Rifle Silhouette event is coming up on Saturday May 19th.

The course of fire will consist of ten shots each on chickens at 40 Meters, pigs at 60 meters, turkeys at 77 meters and rams at 100 meters. Each competitor will fire on two sets of five targets before targets are reset. If any competitor knocks down all ten of a set (“ten straight”) he/she will be permitted to continue firing for the purpose of establishing a “Long Run” record at the conclusion of the match. Participation is increasing and all are invited to join us for a good, safe time. Join us!

Coming up on Sunday, May 20th, we have an NRA Approved Black Powder Target Rifle Tournament.

This competition is open to all qualified shooters. The course of fire will be 200 Yards Offhand SR Target, 300 Yards Sitting SR-3 Target, 600 Yards Prone MR-1 Target. Ten rounds for score, unlimited sighters, 20 minute time limit. Contact the Match Director early for details and check the Match Page for more.

On Saturday May19th, a Military .22 LR Trainer Match will be held at the Bench Rest Range.

This competition is designed to provide a match for those who like to shoot old military .22 training rifles and enjoy meeting others having a similar interest. We will be shooting any “as issued” .22LR trainer rifle that was used by any country’s military. Any .22LR sold by the CMP with US Property markings such as the Kimber 82G, Remington 40-X, Remington 513-T, Winchester 52, Winchester 75, Mossberg 44US, Mossberg 42MB, Harrington & Richardson M-12, and Springfield M1922 is able to be used.

Coming up on Saturday May 19th is our next Military Semi-Auto Rifle Bench Rest Competition

This comptition is designed to provide a match for those who like to shoot old military semi-auto rifles and enjoy meeting others having a similar interst. We will be shooting any “as issued” semi-auto rifle (no match parts) that was issued up to 1953 such as M-1 Garands, M-1 Carbines, M1941 Johnson, German G-43′s, French MAS-49′s, Russian SKS’s and AK’s.

This Competition is designed to provide those who like these old military weapons and enjoy meeting others having similar interest a chance to get together and compete. Since this is more or less a local type of competition we have a great deal of freedom in structuring the matches. Shooters are divided into 3 classes: 1. Iron sights and surplus or factory ammunition. 2. Iron sights and handloaded ammunition. 3. ‘Sniper’ rifles with scopes and any ammunition. Matches held at the Red Castle Outdoor Bench Rest Range.

Sunday June 3rd is our next NRA Approved Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouette Match.

The May 6 match had nineteen competitors in attendance. A hazy day with a mix of sun and clouds. South winds were gusty early in the match and fell flat by the end of the tournament. Some good scores were posted but most notable were some reclassifications, the newer shooters are getting better!

Plan now to attend this wonderful event. If you are in need of lodging for the event, you can search for local hotels and motels near Sand Springs OK which is only a dozen or so miles from the Red Castle Outdoor Range. And remember, NRA classification books are required for all persons competing for awards.

Coming up on Saturday October 6th – M1 Garand Purchase Qualification Match!

Through the Civilian Marksmanship Program, web address www.odcmp.com (formerly the DCM or “Director of Civilian Marksmanship”), qualified individuals may purchase M1 Garand rifles. For many, one of the requirements is participation in an appropriate centerfire match. In addition to NRA sanctioned High Power rifle matches, Tulsa Red Castle Gun Club is pleased to offer several simpler reduced course matches during the year.
