Combined Military Rifle Competition-Bench Rest Range
Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, 8:30am to 12:15pm at Bench Rest Range on Zink Ranch
All are welcome, you do not have to be a member to participate. If you enjoy shooting old military rifles, this is the one for you! The 1st Saturday of each month these competitions are held at the Bench Rest Range and shot at 100 yds. There are 14 lanes. Reserve your lane early ! Sign up for the email list at the match.     
ATTENTION: The Zink Ranch is a gated facility, to get an entry code, non-members must contact the Director at
918-712-0644 in advance and to get more information.
 
 
Four Targets placed at 100 yards. One for Sighting Shots, Two For Record, One for group size.
Course of Fire: All relays are fired seated from Bench Rest using rear supports.
The match is shot in three relays:
Relay One: 22lr. Bolt or Gas, Iron Sites or Scoped.    
Unlimited Sighting Shots - (3 Strings of 10) – 100 yards  22 minutes
Relay Two: 22lr. Bolt or Gas, Iron Sites or Scoped.    
Unlimited Sighting Shots - (3 Strings of 10) – 100 yards  22 minutes
Relay Three: Center Fire Military rifles.   Unlimited Sighting Shots - (3 Strings of 10) – 100 yards  22 minutes
 
Bolt guns - Slow fire.
Auto Loading weapons may fire Rapid fire, 22 minutes is allotted per relay. 
Targets are scored, shot groups are measured and recorded after each relay.
·       Fees: $5 per relay
·       Ear & Eye Protection is Required for matches on the firing line. 
·       Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) is required at all times except in actual firing.

If using a revolver, extra speed loaders are helpful.

800 PT Across the Course High-Power Service Rifle Match
Saturday, November 16th, 2024, 7am to 3pm at High-Power Range
This competition is open to any eligible competitor, you need not be a member of the NRA, CMP or Red Castle Gun Club. No person who has been convicted of a Federal or State felony or any violation of Section 922 of Title 18, U. S. Code, is eligible to participate in any activity sponsored or sanctioned by the CMP.
 
Current CMP High Power Rifle Rules will Govern all matches. It is the responsibility for participants to know the rules and course of fire for the matches. 
 
ALL competitors must sign Red Castle Gun Club, Waiver Agreement, prior to participating. 
 
No Ammunition will be distributed for this match, it is the responsibility for each competitor to provide their own ammunition.

Current CMP rules will govern. It is the competitor’s responsibility to be familiar with CMP rules and this program. The CMP classification system will be used (Rule 5.11.4). Competitors who do not have a CMP Classification, but who have an NRA Classification may compete with their current NRA Classification for their first match (Rule 5.11.4 (f)).

Registration will be held at the 200 yard berm at 0845, no new registrations after 0915. No competitors will be permitted to compete once registration is closed. 
 
Competitors should be prepared to assist with set up and tear down of targets, and or to perform pit and scoring duties.

Matches are subject to weather conditions; all efforts will be made to notify competitors in a timely fashion. 
 
Gate codes will be emailed the week prior to the scheduled match. It is imperative that competitors do not enter Zink Ranch before Sunrise.

Red Castle Gun Club - Annual Steward Cole-Toys for Tots Match
Sunday, November 24th, 2024, 7:30am to 4pm at High-Power Range
Match Fee: 1 or 2 Unwrapped Toys at least $10.00-$20.00 in value.

4.5 As-Issued Military Rifle Courses of Fire; 4.5.1 Course of Fire As-Issued Military Rifle Course A (Table 3)

Stage 3 Slow Fire Standing 10 Shots: 10 Minutes
Vintage Sniper Match (Two-Man Team). The spirit and intent of the CMP Vintage Sniper Rifle Team Match is to provide modern target rifle competitions for competitors who use original, or replica military sniper rifles dated 1953 or earlier. This Match is a two-person team event designed to replicate and test marksmanship skills similar to those employed by traditional military sniper teams. Any rifle configuration or item of equipment that is not mentioned in these rules or that is contrary to the spirit and intent of these rules is prohibited.
No mechanical or adjustable rests, bipods or rear rests or other means of support may be used. Front bag rests may not provide a channel in which to rest the rifle. Both the shooter and the spotter may have their equipment on the team’s firing point during firing.
The competition is for two-person teams. The course of fire for each team includes one five (5) minute Sighting period and twenty (20) Record shots (each team member fires 10 shots) to be fired at 300 yards on the 300-yard SR-3 target followed by one five (5) minute Sighting period and twenty (20) Record shots (each team member fires 10 shots) at 600 yards on the 600-yard MR target (see Rule 6.5.3 for detailed match procedures). The five-minute Sighting periods are for both team members. Each team fires a total of 40 Record shots. The course of fire may be fired on either pit-operated targets or electronic targets.
Match Procedures
The conduct of one relay of the Vintage Sniper Rifle Team Match shall follow this sequence at each range (300 yards and then 600 yards):
a) Call to the Line. Two minutes are allowed for team members to move their equipment to their firing points. b) Preparation Period. Three minutes are allowed for team members to take their positions and prepare to fire sighting shots. c) Sighting Period. Five minutes are allowed for teams to fire Sighting shots. One or both team members may fire Sighting shots. Teams may shoot their sighters from one or both rifles. d) Pause. There is a one-minute pause after the Sighting period when firers can make final preparations for record firing. The LOAD AND STANDBY command for the first shot is given after 50 seconds. e) First Firing Period. Ten seconds after the LOAD AND STANDBY command is given, firers on pit-operated targets are given sequences of 20 seconds for firing single shots and 20 seconds for scoring while firers on electronic scoring targets are given sequences of 15 seconds for 70 firing single shots and 20 seconds for preparation. Both sequences continue until a firer has fired ten Record shots.
f) Changeover Period. Two minutes are allowed for firers and spotters to change roles and for the second team member to prepare to fire. After one minute, 50 seconds, the LOAD AND STANDBY command for the second firer’s first shot is given. g) Second Firing Period. Ten seconds after the LOAD AND STANDBY command is given, firers on pit-operated targets are given sequences of 20 seconds for firing and 20 seconds for scoring while firers on electronic scoring targets are given sequences of 15 seconds for firing and 20 seconds for preparation. Both sequences continue until ten shots are fired. h) Range Clearing. After the second firer fires ten shots, all rifles must be cleared, and team equipment removed from the firing points in preparation for the next relay. 6.5.4 LOAD AND STANDBY Command The LOAD AND STANDBY command is given before the first shot of each 10- shot series on pit-operated targets and before each shot on electronic scoring targets. This command authorizes competitors to load, close rifle actions and shoulder their rifles in preparation for firing match shots.

    • Appropriate attire: incl, closed toe shoes, baseball or similar hat, NO LOW-CUT SHIRTS (hot brass is not fun)
    • Handgun with at least 50 rounds, .45 cal or smaller
      • Limited rental firearms available, please request in advance
      • Must shoot to complete the course
      • Rentals may be available
      • NO RELOADS: Factory, home, or otherwise
    • Attend the entire course
    • Achieve 70% on the test (we will cover everything in the classroom)
  • No meal provided, but options available nearby

FAMILY IN TOWN? - NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course - Instructor Led Only
Tuesday, November 26th, 2024, 8am to 5pm at Indoor Range
Have relatives in town? Perfect opportunity to bond with or escape from the guests.
 
This course is NRA certified and is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is an instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. 
 
$150 members and non-members, so bring your out-of-town guests
 
 
THIS IS A ONE DAY COURSE 
  • Credit and debit cards accepted over the phone or in-person for deposit and balance. Cash is always welcome.
  • Firearm: Students should bring their own firearm. A limited number with ammunition will be available for rent. The firearm may be a semi-automatic or revolver, .45 caliber or less. 
  • Ammunition: Students should bring 200 rounds of factory ammunition, or at least 50 rounds. Reloads, commercial or home-made, are not permitted.
  • Eye and hearing protection: Students should bring eye and hearing protection, with electronic hearing protection recommended.
  • Clothing: Students should wear appropriate range attire, which does not include open-toed shoes or low-cut clothing.
  • Other items: Students should bring a water bottle, pencil, and note pad. Instructor will provide snacks and water, but not a meal. Restaurants are available nearby.

CANCELLED-Single Action Cowboy plus Pike Regular 4th Wednesday match- CANCELLED

CANCELLED due to Thanksgiving holiday. SASS rules cowboy plus Pike match at Buzzard Gulch on the outdoor range. Registration starts at 9:00, the match starts at 10:00. Pike allows 1911 style handgun with 2 clips and pump shotgun in place of revolvers and coach gun. Ammo required: 50 rounds pistol, 50 rounds rifle, 20 to 30 shot shells. Questions? Thursday Outdoor Pistol Practice (TOPP)
Thursday, November 28th, 2024, 9am to 12pm at Pistols only range Zink Ranch
The Bullseye Pistol Range is reserved Thursday mornings from 8:00 AM to Noon.  Shooting starts at 9:00.  Set up starts about 8:00.  Come early and help set up and visit.
Organized pistol practice utilizing a variety of courses of fire to improve shooting skills, enhance decision making skills all with an emphasis on safety. 
Equipment needed:
Center fire handgun.  Semi-auto preferred but revolver OK.
Eye and Ear protection.
Holster and Mag carrier.
At least one extra magazine.
If using a revolver, extra speed loaders are helpful.
